Quasi‐Trapped Electron Fluxes Induced by NWC Transmitter and CRAND: Observations and Simulations

چکیده

Signals from the NWC ground-based very low frequency (VLF) transmitter can leak into magnetosphere and scatter trapped energetic electrons drift loss cones. Recent studies also suggest that cosmic ray albedo neutron decay (CRAND) is probably an important source for quasi-trapped in inner belt. To investigate their relative contributions, this study comprehensively analyzes long-term variations of 206 keV at L = 1.7, which roughly shell where located. Furthermore, a drift-diffusion-source model used to reproduce longitudinal distributions sensitivities simulation results VLF intensities. These CRAND main hundreds when station dayside. In contrast, pitch angle diffusions become mechanism these operates nightside with more energy leaking magnetosphere.

Electron microscopic observations on platelet aggregation induced by cationized ferritin.

Washed and gel-filtered human platelets were dose-dependently aggregated by the addition of cationized ferritin (CF). Ca++ and plasma factors were not necessary to induce the aggregation. Immediately after the addition of CF, CF particles were attached to the surface of platelets that showed discoid form, as observed electron microscopically. Some platelets were connected to each other through ...

Studies on electron beam induced DNA damage and repair kinetics in lymphocytes by alkaline comet assay

Background: Exposure to ionizing radiation is known to induce oxidative stress followed by damage to critical biomolecules like lipids, proteins and DNA through radiolysis of cellular water. Since radiation has been widely used as an important tool in therapy of cancer, the detailed investigation regarding the DNA damage and repair kinetics would help to predict the radiation sensitivity of cel...

Shielding simulations for safe use of curtain electron accelerator by MCNP4C

In an electron curtain accelerator, when the electron beam passes through the titanium exit window of the accelerator chamber, X-ray photons are produced as a negative by-product of retarding accelerated electrons. Controlling the produced X-ray photons to avoid their detrimental effects or in fact, proper shielding of the accelerator is an important issue that has to be considered in the use o...

Air puff induced corneal vibrations: theoretical simulations and clinical observations.

PURPOSE To investigate air puff induced corneal vibrations and their relationship to the intraocular pressure (IOP), viscoelasticity, mass, and elasticity of the cornea based on theoretical simulations and preliminary clinical observations. METHODS To simulate the corneal movement during air puff deformation, a kinematic viscoelastic corneal model was developed involving the factors of cornea...
